CONFERENCE CALL: Krechel, Dellinger earn more honors

For the second time in her career, Lebanon Valley College’s Hana Krechel has been named the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Offensive Player of the Week.

Krechel, also named the Commonwealth Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, scored 20 points in two games last week to help LVC to two wins. The Kennard-Dale High School graduate had a school-record nine goals with an assist against Alvernia on Saturday as LVC won 18-12. Earlier in the week, the LVC junior had four goals and six assists with another school record as she snagged 10 draw controls in a 19-4 blowout at Lycoming.

OTHER LOCAL COLLEGE NOTE

EASTERN GRAD HONORED BY INQUIRER: Eastern York High School graduate Kate Dellinger has been named the Philadelphia Inquirer Women’s Basketball Academic All-Area Performer of the Year.

Dellinger, who received numerous other postseason awards this season, is a junior guard at Widener University. It is her second appearance on the newspaper’s Academic All-Area Team.

Dellinger averaged 13.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.1 assists per game this season. She also has a 3.986 grade-point average in physical therapy.
