BLOG: Kennard-Dale football tries to change its culture

It’s been five seasons since the Kennard-Dale football team had anything resembling a decent year.

That came back in 2010, when the Rams won five games and qualified for the District 3-AAA playoffs, ultimately losing in the first round to Bishop McDevitt. Since that season, K-D has only won seven games total, winning two the following year, going winless in 2012, winning one each in 2013 and 2014 and then topping out with three wins last year.

Yet, even by going 3-7 last year, it was hardly a completely positive season for the Rams. Head coach Patrick Weider was replaced after four games by co-interim head coaches Chris Grube and Eric Updegrove, who led the Rams for the rest of the season. However, that’s when things began trending upward for K-D, with the team going 2-4 under the new coaches.
