York College suffers pair of CAC playoff setbacks

The York College basketball teams suffered a pair of Capital Athletic Conference semifinal playoff losses on Thursday night.

The York men dropped a heartbreaking 86-80 double-overtime decision at Salisbury University. York fell to 17-10, while Salisbury improved to 20-6.

The women’s team, meanwhile, fell to a powerhouse Christopher Newport outfit, 73-52, on the Captains’ home court in Newport News, Virginia. CNU, which is ranked No. 8 in NCAA Division III, improved to 24-2. York College fell to 18-9. It was the third time York fell to CNU this season.
