York-Adams athletes hope for heavy-medal weekend

Central York vs Red Lion Track and field

If the seeds hold true, a pair of discus throwers and a pair of pole vaulters will be the York-Adams League’s best bets to win medals this weekend at the PIAA State Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University’s Seth Grove Stadium.

Red Lion’s Madisen Kling and West York’s Luke Hoffman both won District 3 discus gold medals and enter this weekend as No. 2 seeds at the state meet. Kling, a junior, will compete in Class 3-A girls based on her district throw of 141 feet, 1 inch, while Hoffman, a senior, will compete in 2-A boys on his seeded toss of 186-11.
